It is recommended that laboratories install a centrally located combination shower and eye/face wash unit with hand held drench hoses at each work station. This is consistent with the ANSI standard which states hand held drench hoses should support but not replace eyewash units.
Hand held drench hoses featuring soft aerated water may be conveniently used at the work station. Recommended water supply size 12mm (1/2").
Hand held drench hoses featuring non aerated wide spray pattern is suitable for drenching larger areas of the face and body. Recommended water supply size 12mm (1/2").
Swing-down and over-sink units provide an eyewash facility in an emergency, while allowing normal use of the laboratory sink at other times. Recommend water supply 12mm.
